水生生物有最古老的进化起源和最广泛的生境分布,形成了独特的生命特征和适应机制。水生生物资源也是人类重要的食物蛋白来源和渔业发展的物质基础。如何开发整合组学技术、高效挖掘组学信息、破解水生生物组学特征、解析繁殖发育等遗传调控机制,已成为进化发育和遗传育种等领域共同关注的焦点科学问题。
围绕上述问题,实验室主要从事水生生物基因组特征与重要性状解析研究,代表性成果包括:1) 建立了复杂基因组组装与扫描技术;绘制贝类等9个物种基因组图谱;2) 揭示了鱼类、贝类同形性染色体演化与性别决定机制:在斑点叉尾鮰上首次组装出水生动物完整Y染色体;发现扇贝具有动物界最古老同形性染色体,解析了其3.5亿年不分化的稳态机制;3) 解析了水生生物复杂性状的遗传基础:揭示了鱼类鳞片发生机制和海参皂苷合成机制。上述成果发表在Nature Cancer, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Nature Communications, Cell Discovery等国际高端期刊上。
